BREVARD, N.C.- The Gardner-Webb women's tennis team kicked off
its 2009 fall season in grand fashion this weekend at the Brevard
College Mountain Invitational, with freshman Erica White winning
the Singles A Flight.
In the championship match, White faced Kristi Kegerreis from
Georgia Southern, coming out victorious (6-3, 4-6, 6-3).
Other members of the squad were successful as well throughout
the weekend, with junior Rita Gouveia reaching the finals of the
Singles B Backdraw, sophomore Tavenner Black winning the Singles C
Backdraw, and the team of sophomore Ioana Oprea and Rita Gouveia
were victorious in the Doubles A Flight Backdraw.
