Lady Bulldogs Fall To Wright State 3-0 Friday Night

DAYTON, OHIO- In what was a wet evening at Alumni Field, the Gardner-Webb women's soccer team fell to the Wright State Raiders Friday evening by a score of 3-0.
The Raiders (4-4-2) attacked quickly, with sophomore Bekah Bonny scoring in the 16th minute when she was able to put a shot from 12 yards out past freshman goalkeeper Samantha Rupert.
Bonny was able to score again early in the second half, by putting a shot into the top far corner of the goal. The Raiders scored another goal in the 70th minute when senior Megan Bush was able to find the back of the net.
The Lady Bulldogs (5-5-0) fought hard throughout the match, with both sophomore Stephanie Benshoof and junior Sarah Keyser putting shots on goal, yet they were unable to get the ball past the keeper.
The Lady Bulldogs return to action Wednesday evening as they host Francis Marion in the final non-conference match before Big South Conference play begins. The match is set to begin at 5:00 PM at Greene-Harbison Field.
