
GWU Women's Golf Takes 10th at UNCG Starmount Fall Classic

Greensboro, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb women's golf team finished 10th at the UNCG Starmount Fall Classic tournament hosted at the Starmount Forest GC in Greensboro, N.C.
The Lady Bulldogs picked up a 10th-place team finish, carding
rounds of 329, 330 and 325 for the three-round event, turning in a
combined team score of 984, +132.
Gardner-Webb had five newcomers compete for them this week led by
freshman Meghan Allum who finished 27th-overall. Allum carded
rounds of 79, 79 and 75 for a three-round combined score of 233,
+20.
Fellow newcomer Chelcia Petersen carded rounds of 79, 77 and 88 for
a combined team score of 244, +31, placing her in a tie at
42nd-place, while Brianna Clemmons carded a three-day score of 257,
+44, placing her in 55th-place overall.
Freshman Laura Smith shot a combined team score of 259, +46, to
finished tied in 57th-place, while Hannah Hellyer carded a combined
score of 260, +47, for the event.
Campbell University won the event, carding a combined team score of
887, +25. UNC-Greensboro took second with a team score of 894,
+42, while UNC-Wilmington turned in a combined score of 908, +56,
for third-place.
The Lady Bulldogs will return to the links on October 19-20 when
Gardner-Webb will compete in the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate hosted
by East Carolina.
