
Runnin' Bulldogs Fall 3-1 To High Point Saturday Evening in Big South Play

HIGH POINT, N.C. - Three goals in the second half by freshman forward Kelli Joline gave High Point the 3-1 advantage over Gardner-Webb in women's soccer action Saturday evening.
The Runnin' Bulldogs (3-7-2, 0-2-0 BSC) struck first, with junior forward Megan Reimer finding the back of the net in the seventh minute of play, putting a high shot past High Point junior goalkeeper Andrea Ritchie. The goal was the fourth of the season for the Hamilton, Ohio native, and her first in Big South play.
The Panthers (4-9-0, 2-1-0 BSC) put three shots on goal throughout the first half, with sophomore midfielder Kaitlin Harris, freshman forward Kelli Joline, and sophomore defender Janay Whittaker each attempting to score for High Point, yet none were able to put the ball past GWU junior goalkeeper Chelesa Hearne, keeping the score at 1-0 in Gardner-Webb's favor at the half.
High Point scored the tying goal in the 57th minute of play when Joline was able to put a shot past Hearne in the lower left corner. Katie Taber was credited with the assist.
Joline scored again during the next minute of play, putting a shot in the back of the net from 10 yards out, assisted by senior midfielder Sara Rager.
Joline scored her third goal of the match in the 88th minute of action to seal the match for the Panthers.
Gardner-Webb put two shots on goal during the second half of play, but was unable to produce any offense during the half.
The Runnin' Bulldogs will next be in action this Monday afternoon as they travel to face off against Liberty. The match is set to begin at 4:00 PM in Lynchburg, Va.
