GAME NOTES: Gardner-Webb Kicks Off Big South Play Saturday At Charleston Southern

BOILING SPRINGS - Gardner-Webb will open Big South Conference
play on the road for the ninth season in a row Saturday, traveling
to Charleston Southern for a 1:30 pm kickoff in Buccaneer
Stadium.
The game will be televised live on ESPN3, the worldwide leader's
broadband internet channel, with Mark Bryant and Nate Ross
providing the call.
GWU (2-3, 0-0 Big South) will be looking for its first win in
Charleston since 2004, when GWU shut out the Bucs 16-0 on a cool,
rainy day - and Saturday's contest will likely come down to the
fourth quarter if history is any indication. The last two meetings
have been decided by a combined 10 points, with CSU winning 13-10
on a late field goal in 2008 and Gardner-Webb winning 27-20 on a
Patrick Hall touchdown run with less than a minute to play in
Boiling Springs last season.
Since 2006, no win in the series has come by more than 14
points.
