
GWU Women's Golf Defeats High Point Head to Head on Saturday Afternoon

Ninety-Six, S.C. - The Gardner-Webb women's golf team defeated the High Point Panthers in a GWU/HPU Duals match on Saturday afternoon, as the Runnin' Bulldogs carded a team score of 324 to edge out the Panthers who carded a team score of 328 at The Patriot Club in Ninety-Six, S.C.
The Runnin' Bulldogs were led by two sophomores, as Hannah Hellyer and Lauren Smith each carded GWU low rounds of 78, +6, while fellow sophomore Chelcia Petersen turned in a round of 83, +9, on Saturday afternoon.
Rounding out the scoring for the Runnin' Bulldogs was senior Courtney Meyer, who shot an 85, +13, and sophomore Sammy Vass, who carded a 90, +18.
GWU freshman Pilar Morgan and junior Haleigh Petersen played as individuals on the day, as both turned in rounds of 91, +19.
Winning the one-day dual event was High Point's Audra McShane who carded a low round of 73, +1.
The Runnin' Bulldogs women's golf team will now take the winter off and will return to action on March 20-21 as they will compete in the Low Country Intercollegiate hosted by Wofford.
