Runnin' Bulldogs Earn #7 Seed for 2010 Big South Women's Soccer Championship

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb women's soccer team enters the 2010 Big South Women's Soccer Championship presented by Musco Sports Lighting at the #7 seed, facing #2 seed Radford in the opening round Thursday evening.
The Runnin' Bulldogs finished the 2010 regular season with a 6-9-4 overall record and 3-4-2 in Big South play after a 3-1 loss to Charleston Southern this past Friday evening.
The Highlanders finished the regular season with a 12-6-1 overall record and 6-2-1 in Big South play. Julie Ruh'e led Radford offensively with seven goals and six assists for the season.
Gardner-Webb won the regular season meeting between the two teams on October 17th by a 2-1 score. Freshmen Meagan Reynolds and Jessica Casper each scored to lead the Runnin' Bulldogs to the victory.
Thursday's match will be the final match of the opening round, set to begin at approximately 7:00 PM. The tournament is hosted by Radford University, with all matches being contested at Patrick D. Cupp Memorial Stadium, located on Radford's campus.
The 2010 Big South Women's Soccer Championship presented by Musco Sports Lighting begins Thursday, Nov. 4 with four quarterfinal matches and concludes with the Championship game on Sunday, Nov. 7. The Big South's Tournament champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship. All games will be video streamed live on the Conference's broadband channel, the Big South Network presented by State Farm.
