
GWU Receives Six Votes in USA Today/ESPN Top-25 Coaches' Poll; Moves to No. 17 in Mid-Major Poll

Arlington, Va. - After a 2-0 start in the first week of play, the Gardner-Webb women's basketball team received six votes in the week one of the USA Today/ESPN Division I Top-25 Coaches' Poll released today.
The Runnin' Bulldogs are off to a 2-0 start for the first time in its 10 year Division I history and for their efforts in the opening week of play, Gardner-Webb earned six total votes, three more than the Runnin' Bulldogs received in the preseason poll released two weeks ago.
While the Runnin' Bulldogs are the lone Big South institution to receive votes in the national poll, three of GWU's future opponents garnered votes with two being ranked in the top-20. Oklahoma, GWU's opponent on November 27th, is ranked No. 9 overall this week, while North Carolina, who comes to Boiling Springs, N.C. on New Year's Eve, December 31st, is ranked No. 16.

GWU Moves Up to No. 17 in Women's Mid-Major Top-25
Boston, Mass. - In the first regular season Collegeinsider.com Women's Mid-Major Top-25 Poll announced today, the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs were ranked No. 17 overall.
The 2-0 Runnin' Bulldogs jumped up six spots to No. 17 from No. 23 where GWU was ranked in the preseason Women's Mid-Major Top-25 Poll released on October 27th.
Gardner-Webb received 226 total points for the week.
