Gardner-Webb Women's Soccer Earns 2009-10 NSCAA Team Academic Award

BOILING SPRINGS, NC- The Gardner-Webb women's soccer team was recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America for its work in the classroom as the NSCAA awarded the team with a Team Academic Award for the 2009-10 academic year.
This marks the sixth time that Gardner-Webb has received this award, previously receiving the award for the 2002-03, 2003-04, 2004-05, 2006-07, and 2008-09 academic years.
A total of 436 programs were recognized with a 2009-10 NSCAA Team Academic Award.
In order to be nominated, the team must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the 2009-10 academic year. GWU had a cumulative GPA of 3.33.
The Runnin' Bulldogs recently wrapped up the 2010 season, finishing with a 7-10-5 overall record after falling to High Point by a 1-0 score in overtime in the 2010 Big South Women's Soccer Championship finals.
