GWU Volleyball Signs Heather Feldman to NLI

Boiling Springs, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb volleyball staff along with the entire athletics department is pleased to announce the signing of Heather Feldman to a National Letter of Intent to continue both her academic and athletics career as a Runnin' Bulldog.
Feldman, a setter, comes to Gardner-Webb from Eden, New York, where she has helped lead her Eden High School team to its 13th straight sectional championship this season. Entering the season, Feldman's Eden High School team was tabbed 46th overall in the nation by Max Preps as the Raiders went 35-1 and won the state championship during her junior season. This year, Feldman helped to lead her team to a 25-2 overall record and a sixth-place ranking overall in the state of New York.
Feldman, who is looking to lead Eden H.S. to its state-record eight state this season after winning its seventh a year ago, was a First-Team All-WNY selection and a All-WNY First-Team Small Schools selection last year as a junior. Feldman is a three-time New York State Champion, an ECIC Division IV All-Star and a Class B First-Team All-State selection last season. Feldman, who also is the starting setter for the Niagara Frontier Team, placed fifth at the 2009 USA Beach Volleyball Nationals in Huntington Beach, California, is a East Coast Open Beach Volleyball Champion and was the 2010 Dayton President's Day Cup Champions 17 open division.
The 5-9 setter has also been named to the 2008 First-Team All-WNY Small Schools, to the Class B 2nd Team All-State 2008, 2008 Eden All-Tournament Team, 2009 St. Mary's Invitational All-Tournament Team, 2009 Eden All-Tournament Team, the MVP of the 2009 PVA Invitational and to the 2008 All-Tournament Team Member at the Junior Olympic Volleyball Championships in Dallas, Texas.
The Runnin' Bulldogs, whose season came to an end in the first round of the 2010 Big South Volleyball Championships earlier this week, will return all 15 members from this year's team and with the addition of Feldman, the future looks bright for GWU.
