GAME NOTES: Gardner-Webb Travels To Face No. 12 Liberty Saturday

BOILING SPRINGS - Gardner-Webb will face its stiffest road test
to date on Saturday, traveling to face a talented, 12th-ranked
squad from Liberty in Lynchburg, Va.
Kickoff is set for 3:30 pm in Williams Stadium (19,200) and will be
televised live by ESPN3.com, ESPN GamePlan and the Flames Sports
Network.
The Flames (6-2, 3-0 Big South) are sitting atop the league
standings again in 2010 behind the accurate arm and nimble feet of
quarterback Mike Brown - the nation's leader in total offense
through eight games - and receiver Chris Summers. The Flames'
defense is allowing less than 300 yards per game as well, with
6-foot-5, 380-pound nose guard Asa Chapman anchoring the
middle.
Gardner-Webb (3-5, 1-2 Big South) will be looking to snap a
three-game slide against the Flames, with the last win coming in
Lynchburg in 2006 - with Hunter Smith booming a field goal as time
expired for the final margin.
