
GWU Men's Soccer Earns the No. 3 Seed at the 2010 Big South Men's Soccer Championship Next Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb men's soccer team posted a 5-3 conference record this season to finish tied for third-place with the Liberty Flames in the regular season standings, however, the Runnin' Bulldogs earned the No. 3 seed with its win over the Flames back on October 19 in Lynchburg, Va.
High Point won the 2010 Big South men's soccer regular-season championship, and has earned the No. 1 seed in next week's Big South Men's Soccer Championship in High Point, N.C., it was determined today as the Conference season concluded this afternoon. The Panthers finished the season with a perfect 8-0-0 League mark for 24 points to pick up their first-ever Big South regular season championship.
Coastal Carolina posted a 5-2-1 League record and 16 points to pick up the No. 2 seed, while Liberty took the No. 4 seed due to the loss to the Runnin' Bulldogs. Coming in at No. 5 is Radford with its 4-2-1 Conference mark and 13 points. Winthrop and VMI also finished the regular-season in a tie with 3-5 records and nine points. Winthrop picks up the No. 6 slot as the Eagles defeated VMI on Oct. 12. UNC Asheville rounds out the list with a 2-6 record and six points.
The 2010 Big South Men's Soccer Championship will be played on the campus of High Point University and begins Thursday, Nov. 11 with four games, and concludes with the Championship game on Sunday, Nov. 14. All seven games of the Big South Men's Soccer Championship will air live on the Big South Network. The Big South's Tournament champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament.
