December 01, 2010 | Women's Basketball
Boiling Springs, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb women's basketball team will remain on the road for its next game, traveling to Kennesaw, Ga. to take on the Lady Owls of Kennesaw State at 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 2nd.
Gardner-Webb is coming off an 82-54 route of Texas-Pan American last Sunday afternoon at the Basketball Travelers Invitational Tip-Off Classic in Norman, Oklahoma, yet lost its three previous games.
The Runnin' Bulldogs three-game losing streak was the longest it had seen since 2007-08 and included a 30 point loss to the Mountaineers of Appalachian State, the first 30 point loss for GWU since a 31 point loss to Jacksonville in 2007-08.
Coach Reeves' squad is 1-2 on the road this season with the lone win coming at Wofford in the season opener.
The twins in Monique Hudson and Dominique Hudson lead the way offensively for GWU, as Monique is averaging 13.7 points per game, while Dominique is right on her heels at 12.5 points per game. Dominique also leads the team with 37 assists on the season, with Monique right behind her with 23 dimes on the year.
GWU is 3-3 all-time versus the Kennesaw State Lady Owls, including going 3-2 against KSU when the two teams were both part of the Atlantic Sun Conference. However, Kennesaw State is 1-0 over Gardner-Webb in non-conference match ups.
Kennesaw State is 2-3 on the season with wins over Florida Atlantic and Alabama State. KSU's lone home game thus far this season turned out to be a 70-67 win over Alabama State on November 19th.
The Lady Owls are led by guard Angie Smith, who leads the team with 16.2 points per game and over two steals per contest, while down low, Sametria Gideon is averaging 9.4 points and 9.0 rebounds per game.
Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. at the KSU Convocation Center.
The game will be video broadcast by Kennesaw State and the Atlantic Sun.
