
Runnin' Bulldogs to Host Converse College on 'Poster Night', Thursday Night, in Paul Porter Arena

Boiling Springs, N.C. - The Runnin' Bulldogs will look to extend its current four-game winning streak on Thursday night, December 16th, as head coach Rick Reeves' and his squad will play host to the Converse College Valkyries at 7 p.m. in Paul Porter Arena.
Gardner-Webb, which has not played since December 7th, are coming off a 62-54 home win over N.C. Central, in which the Runnin' Bulldogs held the Lady Eagles to only 16 points in the first 20 minutes of play.
The Runnin' Bulldogs pushed its lead out to as much as 25 points in the second half, however, the Lady Eagles shot over 50 percent in the final 20 minutes of play to force GWU to hold on to a 62-54 win.
Gardner-Webb has posted a stellar 27-4 home record dating back to 2008-09 and are led by the senior guard duo of Monique Hudson, who is averaging 14.3 points and 4.7 rebounds per game, and Dominique Hudson, who is averaging 11.3 points and 5.4 assists per game.
Fellow senior Sandra Vaitkute is averaging 10.3 points and 6.2 rebounds per contest down low for GWU this season, while senior forward LaTroya Pope, who pulled down her 500th career rebound in GWU's last contest, is averaging a team-high 7.8 rebounds per game.
The Runnin' Bulldogs are 1-0 versus Converse having defeated the Valkyries 79-38 last season in Paul Porter Arena.
Converse is 0-8 thus far this season and is 0-1 versus Big South foes, having lost to Coastal Carolina 86-33 on Sunday afternoon in Conway, S.C.
While the Valkyries do not have a single person averaging double-digits in points, Katy Vaughan leads the way with 9.3 points and 3.9 rebounds per game, while Tasia Holdorf is averaging 7.9 points and 3.4 rebounds per contest.
Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. in Paul Porter Arena.
GWU will host "Poster Night". After the game the women's basketball team will have a table at the end of the court where the Runnin' Bulldog players will sign and hand out free 2010-11 women's basketball posters to anyone that wants them.
