Runnin' Bulldogs To Hold a 'Red Out', as the Purdue Boilermakers Come to Boiling Springs on Wednesday, December 22nd

Boiling Springs, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb women's basketball team will welcome the Purdue Boilermakers of the Big Ten to town on Wednesday night, December 22nd, with a "Red Out" in Paul Porter Arena. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.
Gardner-Webb has won five-straight games and are a perfect 3-0 at home thus far this season heading into Wednesday night's showdown with the Boilermakers.
The Runnin' Bulldogs have defeated its opponents by an average of 18.2 points per game during its current five-game winning streak, scoring an average of 70.4 points per game and holding its opponents to only 52.2 points per contest.
Gardner-Webb has posted a stellar 28-4 home record dating back to 2008-09 and are led by the senior guard duo of Monique Hudson, who is averaging 14.2 points and 4.4 rebounds per game, and Dominique Hudson, who is averaging 12.2 points and 5.7 assists per game.
However, Wednesday night's contest will not be an easy affair, as the Boilermakers, who have received votes in the ESPN/USA Today Top-25 Coaches Poll this season, will be looking to avenge last season's 56-55 home loss to the Runnin' Bulldogs in Mackey Arena on December 21st.
Purdue, who plays host to Southern Illinois on December 20th, is 6-3 on the year and are coming off back-to-back wins over Murray State and Auburn. The Boilermakers, who are 5-1 at home in Mackey Arena this season, are 0-2 on the road in true road contests this year with losses at Notre Dame and at Texas A&M, both nationally ranked top-25 programs.
Heading into their contest versus Southern Illinois, the Boilermakers are led by Brittany Rayburn, who is averaging a team-high 15.4 points on 42.2 percent shooting from the floor, and Drey Mingo, who is averaging 14.2 points and 6.0 rebounds in only five games this year for Purdue. Courtney Moses is also averaging double-digit points with 12.6 per game and is shooting 50 percent from three-point line on the season.
Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. in Paul Porter Arena.
GWU will be hosting a "Red Out!" night. For all fans that wear red to the game in support of the Runnin' Bulldogs, you will receive $2 off admission.
Also, Santa Claus will be at the game and visiting with kids during halftime. Santa will be giving out free candy canes to all kids who want to come sit on his lap and tell him their Christmas list.
