GWU Women's Basketball Falls Two Places in Mid-Major Poll

Boiling Springs, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb women's basketball team fell two places to this week in the Collegeinsider.com Women's Mid-Major Top-25 poll, coming in a No. 15 overall.

This week, GWU received 318 points, one more point then last week, yet fell from No. 13 last week to No. 15 this week.

This week marks the ninth-straight week in which GWU has been in the top-25 of the mid-major poll.

Gardner-Webb (7-4) suffered its first loss of the month of December last week, falling victim to a late Purdue three-pointer to fall at home 59-58 on December 22nd.

The loss snapped a five-game winning streak for GWU and a 12 game-home winning streak dating back to last season.

Gardner-Webb will have play three games over the next five days, beginning with a 7 p.m. showdown tonight, December 29th, versus Tennessee Temple at Paul Porter Arena.

The Runnin' Bulldogs will then welcome the No. 10 nationally ranked and undefeated North Carolina Lady Tar heels to Boiling Springs, N.C. on Friday, December 31st, at 3 p.m. before tipping off its conference slate with a home game versus Charleston Southern on Monday, January 3rd, at 5:30 p.m.

The women's Mid-Major Top 25 is comprised of teams from the America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Colonial, Great West, Horizon, Independents, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt and West Coast Conference.
