
Lady Bulldogs Fall to East Carolina, 5-2, Saturday Afternoon

CHAPEL HILL, NC - The Gardner-Webb women's tennis team took on East Carolina Saturday afternoon at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center, located on the campus of the University of North Carolina, and fell by a score of 5-2.
In doubles play, the team of Erica White and Kasey Ellis took on the team of Audrey LePottier and Jessica Cook in the No. 1 position, in what was a tight match that went into the tiebreaker, but LePottier and Cook were victorious by a 8-7 (6) score. The Pirates won the other two doubles matches to earn the doubles point.
In singles play, Erica White remained undefeated for the 2010 season, defeating LePottier (6-0, 6-0) in the No. 1 position, and Ioana Oprea earned a victory in the No. 2 spot, defeating Cook by a 6-1, 6-2 score. The Lady Bulldogs dropped the remaining singles matches to the Pirates to seal the 5-2 victory for East Carolina.
The Lady Bulldogs return to action this Wednesday as they take on the Charlotte 49ers. The match is set to begin at 2:00 PM in Charlotte, NC.
