Lady Bulldogs Blank Winston-Salem State, 7-0, In Women's Tennis Action Saturday Afternoon

BOILING SPRINGS, NC - The Gardner-Webb women's tennis team was victorious in all matches played Saturday afternoon, as the Lady Bulldogs shut out Winston-Salem State by a 7-0 score at the Webb Tennis Complex.
Action began with doubles play, where the Lady Bulldogs (3-2) took all three matches to earn the doubles point. The team of Kasey Ellis and Erica White defeated Slone Holmes and Bianka Locklear (8-0) in the No. 1 position. Rita Goiveia and Ioana Oprea teamed together to defeat Kayla Carter and Kalin Jarvis (8-0) in the No. 2 position, and Tavenner Black and Ronia Hutterli defeated the team of Johanna Nunez and Chelsea Chatman (8-1).
The Lady Rams (1-6) did not fare much better in singles play, as Gardner-Webb earned victories in all six singles matches. Erica White continues her undefeated streak in singles play, defeating Sloane Holmes (6-0, 6-3) in the No. 1 position. This extends her win streak to five matches on the season.
The Lady Bulldogs will return to action this Monday afternoon as they host North Carolina A&T at 2:00 PM.
