
GWU Redshirt-Senior Dustin Porter's Season Ends on Day One at the 2010 NCAA Championships

Omaha, NE - In the first round of the 2010 NCAA Wrestling Championships, Gardner-Webb redshirt-senior Dustin Porter fell to #2 seed Jared Rosholt of Oklahoma State in the 285 pound weight class.
The first period was scoreless until Rosholt took Porter down with 35 seconds to go and rode him out for the rest of the period.
Porter started the second period in the top position, but Rosholt scored with a quick escape to take a 3-0 lead. The rest of the second period passed with further scoring.
Porter chose the bottom position for the third period but was unable to escape. With an additional point for riding time, the final score was 4-0.
In Thursday night's consolation round, Dustin Porter faced off against Northern Iowa's Christian Brantley.
The first period was scoreless. Porter chose bottom to start the second period and escaped in 30 seconds to take the 1-0 lead.
In the third period, Brantley chose to start from the neutral position. A penalty point was awarded to Brantley, followed by a takedown to make the final score 3-1 and eliminate Porter from the tournament.
Porter wrapped up his season with a 33-7 overall record and made history as he is the only four-time East Regional Champion and NCAA national qualifier in GWU's history.
