
Bulldogs Get Best of 49ers, Win 4-3 Wednesday Afternoon in Men's Tennis Action

BOILING SPRINGS, NC - The Gardner-Webb men's tennis team took on the Charlotte 49ers Wednesday afternoon at the Webb Tennis Complex, and in what was a series of close matches, the Bulldogs were able to pull of the 4-3 overall victory.
Gardner-Webb took the early advantage in doubles play, where they won two of the three matches to earn the doubles point.
In singles play, Evgeny Slesarev took down Mortiz Bernhoerster (6-3, 6-2) at the No. 1 position, giving the senior his thirteenth consecutive singles victory for the season. The Bulldogs also picked up victories at the No. 3 and No. 4 positions from Rafael Altmayer and Roman Piftor to seal the overall victory.
Gardner-Webb will quickly turn around to take on Big South Conference foe UNC Asheville Thursday afternoon at 2:00 PM in Asheville, NC.
