Women's Tennis Falls To Winthrop, 6-1, Wednesday Afternoon

BOILING SPRINGS, NC - The Gardner-Webb women's tennis team took on the Winthrop Eagles at the Webb Tennis Complex Wednesday afternoon, but the Lady Bulldogs fell to their Big South Conference foe by a 6-1 score.
Action kicked off with doubles play, where the Lady Bulldogs dropped all three matches to give Winthrop the doubles point.
In singles play, Erica White picked up the lone victory for the Lady Bulldogs, defeating Yasmine Alkema (1-6, 6-4, 10-8) at the No. 1 position.
The Lady Bulldogs will return to action next Wednesday afternoon as they head to Buies Creek, NC to take on Campbell. The match is set to take place at 2:00 PM
