High Point, N.C. - The
Gardner-Webb outdoor track and field team had five individuals
compete at the 2010 High Point VertKlasse Meet on Sunday night in
High Point, N.C.
Gardner-Webb's Carrie Long finished sixth in the women's pole
vault even with a height of 3.20 meters (10'6"), while freshman
Bethany Wright placed 10th overall, clearing the bar at 2.80 meters
(9'2.25").
Fellow freshman Taylor Cook also competed in the women's pole
vault event, but failed to record a height, while sophomore Katy
Milton finished seventh in the women's long jump with a distance of
4.83 meters (15'10.25").
Freshman Bulldog Josiah Stanton-Brooks, who was the lone GWU
male athlete to compete on Sunday night, placed 16th in the men's
1500 meter run with his time of 4:08.81.
The men's and women's track and field teams will return to
action next weekend, as the Bulldogs will compete at the Liberty
Twilight Meet on April 30-May 1 in Lynchburg, Va.
