Reynolds' Goal Lifts Runnin' Bulldogs Over Chattanooga, 1-0, Friday Evening in Border Classic Opener

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. - Freshman forward Meagan Reynolds scored early in Friday evening's match to give the Gardner-Webb women's soccer team a 1-0 victory over the Chattanooga Mocs in the first evening of the Under Armour Border Classic.
The Runnin' Bulldogs (3-2-1) wasted little time, with Reynolds finding the back of the net in the first minute of the match off of her corner kick. The goal was the second of the season for the Kings Mountain, N.C. native.
Chattanooga (1-5-0) switched goalkeepers in the 29th minute of play, replacing freshman keeper Taylor Mangrum with sophomore keeper Taylor Davidson.
GWU tested the Chattanooga keepers throughout the first half of action, putting four additional shots on goal during the half.
Junior goalkeeper Chelsea Hearne earned another shutout victory, as she earned two saves, preventing the Mocs from finding the back of the net.
In Friday's first match of the Border Classic, USC Upstate defeated Morehead State by a 1-0 score.
The Under Armour Border Classic continues Sunday afternoon as the Runnin' Bulldogs take on Morehead State at 3:00 PM. Chattanooga will face USC Upstate at 1:00 PM. Both matches will be held at Greene-Harbison Field.
