Gardner-Webb Women's Tennis Picked To Finish Sixth in Big South Preseason Poll

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb women's tennis team has been selected to finish sixth in the Big South Conference Preseason Poll, as voted by the League's head coaches.
The Runnin' Bulldogs received 24 points, ranking sixth. Winthrop was selected as the preseason favorite to win the Big South title.
In 2010, GWU finished with an overall record of 12-12, highlighted by Erica White being selected as Big South Co-Freshman of the Year, a program first.
Along with White, returning to lead this year's squad are seniors Laura Kriett and Rita Gouveia, as well as sophomore Ioana Oprea.
The Runnin' Bulldogs open the 2011 season on Saturday, January 22rd as they travel to face Davidson. The Big South Women's Tennis Conference Championship is slated for Thursday-Saturday, April 21-23 on the campus of Winthrop University.
