Runnin' Bulldogs Compete at Mountaineer Open

Boone, N.C. - For the second straight weekend and the third time this season, the Runnin' Bulldog indoor track & field teams headed to Boone, N.C. to take part in an indoor event, this time the Mountaineer Open on Saturday, January 22nd.
The Runnin' Bulldogs just had a handful of participants this week, with six competing on the women's side and one on the men's side.
Freshman Olivia Moody placed in a six-way tie for seventh-place in the women's high jump event with her mark of 1.53 meters, while fellow newcomers Katie Spiro and Kristen Hurley failed to clear the bar.
However, Hurley and Spiro also both competed in the women's long jump, as Hurley finished in 24th-place with a leap of 4.76 meters, while Spiro turned in a mark of 4.53 meters to place 32nd overall.
Moody also competed in the women's long jump event, posting a jump of 4.09 meters to place her in 38th-place overall.
Gardner-Webb freshman Amara Isbell crossed the finish line with a time of 1:01.15 in the 400 meter dash to place 13th overall on Saturday.
Two Runnin' Bulldogs in sophomore Bethany Wright and freshman Blaire Teeters both competed in the women's pole vault event, yet both struggled on the day and failed to record a height.
On the men's side, the lone Runnin' Bulldog was freshman Cory Palmer who posted a mark of 5.90 meters to finish in 30th-place overall in the men's long jump event.
The men's and women's indoor track & field teams will both return to action next weekend, January 28-29th, traveling to Lynchburg, Va. to compete at the Liberty Open.
