Ronia Hutterli Named Big South Women's Tennis Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Gardner-Webb sophomore Ronia Hutterli (Duebendorf, Switzerland) has been selected as the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Women's Tennis Player of the Week, for matches played Jan. 17-23, it was announced today by the League office.
Hutterli helped the Runnin' Bulldogs to their first program win over Southern Conference foe Davidson, 4-3. Her and partner Rita Gouveia took down the Wildcats' Samantha Galainena and Frizzi Bschorer, 8-6 in No. 3 doubles. Hutterli continued her strong play in the No. 5 flight, defeating Bschorer, 6-1, 6-3, to lead the Runnin' Bulldogs to a season-opening win on the road.
Gardner-Webb will next be in action on Thursday, February 10th as they host Charlotte. The match is scheduled for a 2:30 PM start time at the Webb Tennis Complex.
