Gardner-Webb Prepares for Big South Rivals UNC-Asheville on Thursday, Presbyterian on Senior Day Saturday

Boiling Springs, N.C. - The Runnin' Bulldogs are set to host a pair of Big South matches this week as GWU welcomes UNC-Asheville to Boiling Springs on Thursday at 7 pm and will face Presbyterian for Senior Day on Saturday at 4 pm.
GWU is coming off a breakthrough win against VMI this past Saturday, gaining a 3-2 victory to earn its first conference win as well as its first win on the road in the 2011 season. The Runnin' Bulldogs look to keep that keep streak going this week with four games remaining before the Big South Tournament.
Gardner-Webb continues to look towards senior Dawn Rollyson this season, who leads the Runnin' Bulldogs in goals (8), shots (29), game-winning goals (3), and points (16) in 2011. The senior from Westerville, Ohio is ranks 3rd in the Big South in goals/game and 5th in points/game. Rollyson will look for help from freshman Megan Curan (3 assists, 10th Big South) and senior Megan Reimer (3 goals scored) on the offensive end to give the Runnin' Bulldogs the edge it will need against strong goalkeeping this weekend.
On the defensive end, GWU is led by keeper Erika Lenns, who ranks 4th in the Big South in saves (78), saves/game (5.57), and shutouts (3) this season. She will look for help from backline defenders Addison Abee, Tina Frost, and Taylor Napoli to hold the opposing strikers in check vs. the Bulldogs and the Blue Hose this week.
