GWU to Take On Wofford Tuesday Night; Host High Point for 'Think Pink Night' on Friday Night and Campbell For Homecoming on Saturday

Boiling Springs, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb volleyball team will have a very challenging slate in front of them this week, as the Runnin' Bulldogs will play three matches in five days, including back-to-back home conference bouts as part of GWU's Homecoming weekend on October 28-29th.
The Runnin' Bulldogs are 7-15 overall and 3-5 in Big South play thus far this season and will look to continue to add to those records this week.
Gardner-Webb has posted a 2-1 record over the last two weeks of play, having posted back-to-back wins over UNC Asheville and Charleston Southern before falling to Coastal Carolina Saturday afternoon 3-0 in Conway, S.C.
With one more conference win, GWU will tie the single-season record for conference wins with four since joining the Big South Conference in 2008.
The Runnin' Bulldogs are 4-1 at home this season and will look to continue their dominance this weekend, as GWU will host both High Point and Campbell in conference play.
On Tuesday night, the Runnin' Bulldogs will travel down I-85 to face off with the Wofford College Terriers at 6 p.m. in Spartanburg, S.C.
Gardner-Webb, who is 4-2 versus the Terriers since 2000, have won two straight over Wofford including a 3-0 win over the Terriers back on September 17th at the USC Upstate Invitational.
However, Gardner-Webb has struggled on the road this season, having gone 1-8 in true road matches on the year and 0-4 in road matches in non-conference action.
Wofford, who is 13-13 overall and 3-3 at home this season, are on a six-match losing streak and will look to snap that streak at home on Tuesday night.
The Terriers are 1-1 versus the Big South Conference this season, having posted a win over Charleston Southern, while the Runnin' Bulldogs are 2-3 against Southern Conference foes with wins over Wofford and Western Carolina.
GWU will host a "Think Pink Night" on Friday night to help raise breast cancer awareness as the High Point Panthers come to town for a 7 p.m. tilt.
Gardner-Webb, who has struggled against the Panthers, is 2-11 versus High Point since 2000 and has never beaten High Point in Big South Conference play.
The Panthers, who are 6-16 overall and 4-4 in the Big South this season, have won the last seven meetings between these two teams on the volleyball court.
High Point, which has lost its last two matches, is only 1-5 in true road contests this season.
As part of the Homecoming festivities on Saturday, the Runnin' Bulldogs will host the Campbell Fighting Camels at 5 p.m. in Paul Porter Arena.
GWU is 4-2 versus the Fighting Camels since 2000, with most of those contests coming in Atlantic Sun Conference play.
These two teams' last met in 2007, which proved to be a 3-1 home win for the Runnin' Bulldogs, who have won the last two meetings between these two teams.
Campbell, who will take on UNC Asheville on Friday night in Asheville, N.C., enters play this week at 11-13 overall and 4-4 in the Big South Conference.
The Fighting Camels are 3-5 in true road contests this season and have won two straight conference matches, both of which came at home last week.
