GWU's Reinhardsen Tabbed Big South Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
October 25, 2011 | Men's Soccer
Charlotte, N.C. - Gardner-Webb redshirt-junior Jon Ole Reinhardsen garnered the Big South Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honor for games played Oct. 17-23, the League announced today.
Reinhardsen, from Kristiansand, Norway, keyed a defensive backfield that held UNC Asheville and High Point scoreless as Gardner-Webb picked up two important Big South wins last week. Against the Panthers on October 22nd, the defender recorded a team save and kept the High Point forwards out of rhythm and off target. UNC Asheville was only able to get five shots on frame, while Reinhardsen's defense held High Point to only six shots on goal. The two wins last week vaulted the Runnin' Bulldogs to second-place in the Big South standings and pushed their winning streak to five in a row.
The Runnin' Bulldogs will return to action this Saturday, October 29th, as GWU will travel to Radford, Va. to do battle with the Radford Highlanders at 7 p.m.
