Treymaine Schley Named FCS National Tight End of the Week By College Football Performance Awards

DAVIDSON, N.C. - Gardner-Webb sophomore Treymaine Schley was honored Monday morning as Division I FCS National Tight End of the Week by the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA).
Schley (Fort Myers, Fla. / South Fort Myers HS) caught five passes for 50 yards and both of Gardner-Webb's touchdowns in a 14-7 win over Charleston Southern Saturday afternoon.
The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder turned in his second major performance in as many weeks, and has caught nine passes for 119 yards in wins over Coastal Carolina (10/22) and Charleston Southern (10/29).
Schley leads all Big South Conference tight ends with 17 catches so far in 2011. Schley has hauled in those catches for 200 yards (11.8 yards per catch) and his two touchdowns - the first two of his career at Gardner-Webb.
Gardner-Webb (3-5, 2-2 Big South) will step out of league play this week to host Virginia State on Thursday, November 3, at 6:00 pm. The game will mark the first Thursday night game in Ernest W. Spangler Stadium's history.
