GWU Volleyball to Hold 'White Out' on Friday Night and a 'Red Wave' on Saturday

Boiling Springs, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb volleyball team will not only be hosting Winthrop and Presbyterian this weekend, but the Runnin' Bulldogs will also be holding a "White Out" on Friday night and a "Red Wave" on Saturday afternoon in Paul Porter Arena.
The Runnin' Bulldogs are a perfect 2-0 at home thus far this season, having won all six sets in its two wins over Montreat and Western Carolina. However, Gardner-Webb is 0-3 in conference play and will look to pick up its first conference win of the young season this weekend.
Gardner-Webb is coming off a tough week last week, in which the Runnin' Bulldogs suffered two five-set losses and a three set loss at Radford in which GWU was never in the match.
On Friday night, the Runnin' Bulldogs will hold a "White Out", as the girls ask all the fans to wear white as GWU will take on the Winthrop Lady Eagles at 7 p.m. in Paul Porter Arena.
GWU is only 1-14 versus Winthrop since 2000-01, with the lone win coming at home back on September 27, 2008.
The Lady Eagles are 10-5 overall on the season and a perfect 3-0 in Big South play with wins over Charleston Southern, Coastal Carolina and Presbyterian. Winthrop is on a five-match winning streak and are 3-2 in true road matches this season.
On Saturday afternoon, a "Red Wave" will sweep Paul Porter Arena, as the volleyball team encourages all fans to wear red as GWU host Presbyterian College at 12 p.m. (noon).
While GWU and Presbyterian are tied up at 4-4 in the overall series since 2000-01, when GWU moved to NCAA Division I, the Blue Hose have won the last four meetings over the Runnin' Bulldogs.
PC is 6-11 overall and 2-1 in conference play heading into action this week, and will be coming off a match against UNC Asheville on Friday night in Asheville, N.C.
