
GWU's Allum and Gray Tabbed Big South Golfers of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Gardner-Webb junior Meghan Allum and Gardner-Webb senior Kristopher Gray have been named the Choice Hotels Big South Women's and Men's Golfer of the Week, respectively, for events played Sept. 29-Oct. 5, it was announced today by the Conference office.
Allum tied for ninth out of 75 participants at the UNCG Starmount Fall Classic (par 71, 6,265 yards) with a 13-over par 226 (76-76-74) to lead the Runnin' Bulldogs to an eighth-place finish in the 14-team field. She finished ahead of 25 other Big South golfers in the event to post her first Top-10 standing of the season.
Gray posted a 5-over par 221 (80-70-71) to tie for fourth-place out of 71 golfers at the Joe Agee Invitational (par 72, 6,889 yards). He bounced back from a first round 80 and 40th-place standing to card a tournament-best 3-under 141 during the final 36 holes of the event. Gray finished near the top of all statistical categories for the tournament, posting eight birdies and a par-5 scoring average of 4.75 (3-under par).
Allum and the women's golf team will return to action this weekend, as GWU will compete at the Winthrop Intercollegiate in Rock Hill, S.C. on October 8-9th.
Gray and the men's golf team will return to the links in two weeks, as the Runnin' Bulldogs will compete at the Donald Ross Intercollegiate on October 17-18th hosted by Appalachian State.
