SCHEDULE
Gardner-Webb will wrap up its dual match action this Tuesday
afternoon, as the Runnin' Bulldogs will host the Spartans of UNC
Greensboro at 12:30 p.m. in Paul Porter Arena.
BIG SOUTH NETWORK
The Runnin' Bulldogs will make its second appearance on the Big
South Network this week, as the match with UNC Greensboro will be
video streamed over the Internet. There is a small fee for
watching the match on the Big South Network and can be viewed by
going to www.bigsouthsports.com or by clicking
here and signing up.

SCOUTING THE SPARTANS OF UNCG
The Spartans of UNC Greensboro are 6-11 overall and 4-1 in the
Southern Conference on the year. UNCG is coming off a 22-12 match
win over VMI on February 17th, a win that snapped a four match
losing streak. UNCG has also posted wins over Appalachian State,
The Citadel, Davidson, George Mason, and Northern Illinois. The
Spartans are led by Ivan Lopouchanski, who is 34-8 overall at 149,
Peter Sturgeon, who is 27-10 overall on the year at 285, and Byron
Sigmon, who is 21-13 overall at 174.
GARDNER-WEBB FALLS AT THE CITADEL
Gardner-Webb struggled on February 19th at the Citadel, scoring
only three decision wins to ultimately fall to the Bulldogs 29-9.
At 141 Richie Spicel earned a 4-2 decision win, while at 157 Alex
Medved picked up a 4-1 victory. The lone other Runnin' Bulldog
grappler to win on Saturday night was freshman Erin O'Dell, who
recorded a 7-3 win at 174.
GWU DOMINATES DAVIDSON AT HOME
Gardner-Webb won seveon of the 10 bouts over Davidson to down the
Wildcats 31-9 at home on February 16th. GWU picked up an early 7-6
win by Brett Kostern at 125 to get on the board, yet fell behind
6-3 in the match after falling at 133 and 141. The Runnin'
Bulldogs then ran off three straight wins, as Ryan Medved earned a
14-3 major decision win at 149. GWU then finished the match out
strong with Jonathan Velazquez winning 6-2 at 184 and Travis Porter
earning a 3-1 overtime win at 285 with a late two point
takedown.
RUNNIN' BULLDOGS TAKE SECOND AT EAST REGIONAL DUALS
The Runnin' Bulldogs posted a 2-1 overall dual match record at the
2011 East Regional Dual Championships, securing a 30-16 win over
Millersville and a 43-9 victory over Sacred Heart. Gardner-Webb
dropped its third and final match of the day, a 24-14 loss to
Liberty which proved to be the championship match.
LOOKING AHEAD FOR GWU
Gardner-Webb will have a week and a half of to both heal and
prepare for the 2011 NCAA East Regional Championships hosted by
Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. on Sunday, March 6th.
