
GWU's Daniel Kim Paces Runnin' Bulldogs at General Hackler Championship

Myrtle Beach, S.C. - Gardner-Webb sophomore Daniel Kim paced the Runnin' Bulldogs with a combined three-round score of 230, +14, as the Runnin' Bulldogs men's golf team took 16th-place overall at the General Hackler Championship hosted by Coastal Carolina at the TPC of Myrtle Beach Golf Course in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
The Runnin' Bulldogs turned in team rounds of 321, 326 and 324, to finish with a three-round combined team scored of 971, +107, placing them in 16th-place overall behind fellow Big South members Charleston Southern (940, +76) and Presbyterian College (954, +90).
Kim turned in a GWU low round of 74, +2, in the second round on Sunday afternoon to finish the tournament with a combined score of 230, +14, good enough to place him in 35th-place overall.
Junior Kristopher Gray carded rounds of 77, 83 and 82 to finish in a tie at 74th-place with a two-day score of 242, +26, while fellow teammate Jordan Duffy shot an 86, 85 and 80, giving him a score of 251, +35, for the tournament and an 85th-place finish.
Gardner-Webb redshirt-junior J.J. Regan turned in scores of 82, 89 and 83, carding a 254, +38, overall to place 88th individually, while freshman Steven Jones rounded out the scoring for GWU with a combined score of 256, +40, to finish in 90th-place overall.
Augusta State, last year's NCAA Division II National Champions, won the event with a team score of 878, +14, finishing three strokes ahead of second-place Virginia (881, +17) and 12 strokes ahead of third-place Auburn (890, +26).
The GWU men's golf team will return to competition this Friday, March 18th, as the Runnin' Bulldogs will compete at the Furman Intercollegiate in Greenville, S.C. from March 18-20th.
