
Gardner-Webb Men's Golf Claims Seventh Place Finish at Furman Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Gardner-Webb men's golf team posted rounds of 293, 291, and 295 to score a combined 879, +15, to take a seventh-place finish at the 2011 Furman Intercollegiate at the Furman University Golf Course in Greenville, S.C. from March 18-20.
The Runnin' Bulldogs finished 31 strokes behind first-place winner Clemson, who posted a three-round score of 848, -16.
GWU finished ahead of fellow Big South Conference members Winthrop and Charleston Southern (891, +27, T10), as well as Presbyterian College (906, +42, T12).
Sophomore Daniel Kim led the squad with a combined score of 215, -1 for the three-round event, turning in rounds of 76, 69, and 70 to finish tied for tenth overall.
Junior Kristopher Gray and redshirt-junior J.J. Regan each shot combined scores of 218, +2, to earn ties for 24th overall Gray carded rounds of 70, 74, and 74, while Regan posted rounds of 73, 71, and 74.
Senior Scott Wheeler and sophomore Daley Byles both posted combined scores of 229, +13, to both finished tied for 78th overall. Both had rounds of 75, 77, and 77.
The Gardner-Webb men's golf team will next hit the links on Monday, April 11-Tuesday, April 12, as the Runnin' Bulldogs take part in the Wofford Intercollegiate in Spartanburg, S.C.
