GWU's Hutschalik Tabbed Big South Men's Field Athlete of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Gardner-Webb's Christoph Hutschalik was tabbed the Men's Field Athlete of the Week, the League announced today in only the second week of the outdoor track & field season.
Hutschalik, a redshirt-senior from Grossroehrsdorf, Germany, placed second with a GWU school-record throw of 200' 5" in the hammer throw at the 49er Classic hosted by Charlotte. His mark currently ranks No. 1 in the Big South Conference.
Hutschalik, which placed second overall in the hammer throw event at the 49er Classic, reset his previous school record set last season.
GWU's Hutschalik was tabbed the Big South Men's Indoor Track & Field Athlete back on January 20th, making this is second conference weekly honor on the year.
Gardner-Webb sophomore Ashlei Alexander, which placed second in the shot put with a mark of 44' 5.25"at the 49er Classic to rank No. 1 on the Big South Performance Chart, was tabbed as an honorable mention honoree for the weekly award of Women's Field Athlete of the Week.
