
Runnin' Bulldogs Drop 5-2 Decision to Appalachian State Tuesday Afternoon

BOONE, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb men's tennis team fell to Appalachian State Tuesday afternoon by a 5-2 score at the ASU Tennis Courts.
The Runnin' Bulldogs drop to 8-9 overall for the season, while Appalachian State improves to 10-4 overall.
Action began with doubles play, where the duo of Julien Belair and Roman Piftor defeated Alex Markov and Sebastien King (8-5) at the No. 2 spot, yet the Mountaineers won the remaining two matches to claim the doubles point.
In singles play, Korhan Ates defeated Alain Humblet (1-6, 7-6(6), 10-6) at the No. 2 position, and Roman Piftor downed Sebastien King (6-3, 6-2) at the No. 4 position, but ASU took the remaining matches to seal the overall win.
The Runnin' Bulldogs will next be in action this Thursday afternoon, hosting UNC Greensboro. Action is set to begin at 2:30 PM at the Webb Tennis Complex.
