RADFORD, Va. - The Gardner-Webb men's tennis team fell to
Radford Sunday afternoon by a score of 5-2 at the RU Tennis
Courts.
Gardner-Webb falls to 10-10 overall, 3-2 in Big South Conference
play, while Radford improves to 18-3 overall and 5-1 in league
play.
The afternoon began with doubles action, where the duo of Adam
Knutsson-Sundblad and Korhan Ates defeated Nick Sayer and Paul
Boslet (8-4) at the No. 3 position, yet Radford took the remaining
two matches to take the early 1-0 advantage.
In singles play, Andrew Veeder defeated Igor Ogrizek (4-6, 6-4,
10-8) at the No. 3 position, and Matthew Parker defeated Paul
Boslet (6-4, 6-7(4), 10-5) at the No. 6 position, yet Radford took
the remaining four singles matches to seal the overall win.
The Runnin' Bulldogs will return to action this Friday
afternoon, taking on Winthrop in the final match of the 2011
regular season. The match is set for a 2:30 PM start time in Rock
Hill, S.C.
