GWU Senior Courtney Meyer Named to Big South Women's Golf All-Academic Team

Charlotte, N.C. - For the second straight year, Gardner-Webb women's golf Courtney Meyer was named to the Big South All-Academic Team, which was announced Monday night by the League office.
Meyer, who was named to the All-Academic Team last year as well, has posted a 3.5137 cumulative grade point average during her four years at Gardner-Webb while working toward her undergraduate degree in Middle Grades Education.
The lone senior golfer on the GWU women's roster this season, entered play at the 2011 Big South Women's Golf Championships on Monday ranked 15th in the Big South's Top-20 with a scoring average of 78.88 on the year.
Meyer turned in a season-best round of 74, +2, at the Great Smokies Collegiate in the fall season and finished tied for 33rd-place at the Low Country Intercollegiate this spring. She helped lead GWU to a fourth-place team finish at the Low Country Intercollegiate and a fifth-place team showing at the Great Smokies Intercollegiate.
Meyer, who was a 2008-09 Big South All-Conference Team selection, has played a total of eight rounds for GWU thus far this season, competing in four tournaments overall.
Both Meyer and the Gardner-Webb women's golf team will wrap up its 2011 spring season this week, as the Runnin' Bulldogs will continue to compete at the 2011 Big South Women's Golf Championships presented by Musco Sports Lighting on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Patriot Golf Club in Ninety-Six, S.C.
