
GWU Men's Tennis Falls to Winthrop, 7-0, Friday Afternoon

ROCK HILL, S.C. - The Gardner-Webb men's tennis team fell to Winthrop Friday afternoon in the final match of the 2011 regular season.
The Runnin' Bulldogs fall to 10-11 overall and 3-3 in Big South Conference play, while the Eagles improve to 15-5 overall, 6-0 in conference play.
In doubles play, the duo of Korhan Ates and Adam Knutsson-Sundblad won their match at the No. 3 position, yet Winthrop took the remaining two matches to take the early 1-0 advantage.
The Eagles didn't let up at the onset of singles play, taking all six matches to seal the overall win.
The Runnin' Bulldogs will now focus on the 2011 Big South Men's Tennis Championships, beginning Thursday, April 21st in Rock Hill, S.C. at Winthrop University.
