
GWU Earns No. 4 Seed for Big South Men's Tennis Championships

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The seedings for the upcoming Big South Men's Tennis Championships have been announced by the Big South Conference offices, with the Gardner-Webb men's tennis team earning the No. 4 seed.
The Runnin' Bulldogs finished the 2011 regular season with a Conference record of 3-3, which put them in fourth place in the standings. Winthrop finished the season with a 6-0 Conference record to earn the No. 1 seed.
GWU will face No. 5 UNC Asheville in the opening match of the tournament at 10:00 AM. The Bulldogs finished the season with a 2-4 Conference record, and when the two teams faced each other in the regular season, Gardner-Webb won by a 6-1 score.
The 2011 Big South Men's Tennis Championships begins Thursday, April 21st with three matches, and concludes with the Championship match on Saturday, April 23rd in Rock Hill, S.C. The Big South's tournament champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Men's Tennis Tournament. The Conference Championships schedule is as follows:
