Runnin' Bulldogs Compete at 2011 Tiger Track Classic at Auburn University

Auburn, Ala. - The Gardner-Webb outdoor track & field teams had a number of individuals compete at the 2011 Tiger Track Classic hosted by Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama on Saturday, April 2nd, with a handful of Runnin' Bulldogs posting top-25 finishes on the day.
On the men's side, senior Johnathan Rucker picked up a fifth-place finish overall in the 110 meter hurdles event, turning in a time of 14.75, while in the same event, fellow senior Evan Brusich crossed the finish line in 10th-place with his time of 15.01.
Brusich also picked up a 16th-place finish in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 55.74, finishing behind fellow teammate Johnathan Parks who took ninth-place overall with a person best time of 54.82 on Saturday afternoon.
GWU sophomore Bo Miller earned two top-25 finishes on Saturday, as the sprinter picked up a 17th-place finish in the 200 meter dash with his time of 22.38 and a 23rd-place showing in the 100 meter dash with a time of 10.969, while fellow classmate Josiah Stanton-Brooks also recorded a top-25 finish, crossing the finish line in a time of 1:55.415 in the 800 meter run, placing him in 17th-place overall for the event.
In the 4x400 meter relay event, the GWU unit of Rucker, Brusich, Parks and Stanton-Brooks turned in a 10th-place finish with their time of 3:20.48.
On the women's side, senior Diana Palka took ninth-place in the 3000 meter run, turning in a time of 10:24.42, a new personal best, while fellow classmate Laura Scott earned a 23rd-place finish with her time of 10:54.63.
GWU sophomore Ivana Hughes recorded a 14th-place finish in the 800 meter run with her time of 2:18.83, while fellow classmate and teammate Ariel Zimmerman earned a 17th-place finish in the 1500 meter run, crossing the finish line in a time of 4:50.83.
The Runnin' Bulldog outdoor track & field teams will return to action next weekend, as some of the student-athletes will compete at the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas from April 6-9th, while others will take part of the Carolina's Cup in Rock Hill, S.C. on Saturday, April 8th.
