
Runnin' Bulldogs Drop 4-3 Decision to East Carolina Saturday Afternoon

GREENVILLE, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb women's tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision to East Carolina in non-conference play Saturday afternoon at the ECU Tennis Complex.
Gardner-Webb fell to 9-4 overall, while ECU improved to 16-7 on the season.
GWU fell to an early 0-1 deficit following doubles play, where the Pirates took all three matches to earn the doubles point, which proved to be the deciding point of the overall match.
In singles action, Laura Kriett defeated Natalie Collins (6-2, 0-6, 6-3) at the No. 2 position, Jenny Lunde blanked Petra Vogel (6-0, 6-0) at the No. 3 spot, and Ronia Hutterli defeated Neena Wanko (6-1, 6-3) at the No. 4 position.
The Runnin' Bulldogs will next be in action Monday afternoon as they host Liberty. The match is set for a 1:00 PM start time at the Webb Tennis Complex.
