
GWU's Bell and Yelverton Both Climb Up the Leader Board on Saturday at the 51st North Carolina Amateur Championship

Greensboro, N.C. - Gardner-Webb graduate Ryan Bell and 2011 signee Matt Yelverton both carded rounds below par on Saturday afternoon to climb up the leader board at the 51st North Carolina Amateur Championship at the Greensboro Country Club's Farm Course in Greensboro, N.C.
Bell, who entered Saturday's third round of play in third-place overall with a two-round combined score of 135, -9 under par, shot a third round 70, -2 under par, on Saturday to move up into a tie for second-place overall with Mike McKenzie of Wake Forest, N.C. at 205, -11 under par.
Bell's score of 205, -11 under par, is only one stroke behind leader Ryan Gioffre of Greensboro, N.C., a former Nationwide Tour player.
Yelverton turned in a low round 67, -5 under par, on Saturday to jump up almost 20 places on the leader board, moving up into a four-way tie in 18th-place with a three-round combined score of 211, -5 under par.
Final round of play will begin at 8 a.m. on Sunday, June 19th, at the Greensboro County Club's Farm Course in Greensboro, N.C.
