GWU Women's Soccer Releases 2011 Fall Schedule

Boiling Springs, N.C. - Gardner-Webb women's soccer head coach Kevin Mounce is excited to announce the Runnin' Bulldogs 2011 women's soccer schedule which includes nine home matches as well as the Gardner-Webb Under Armour Border Classic on September 9-11th.
"We are looking forward to the challenges this schedule will present to us. We are going to have to learn to play on the road early on which should help prepare us for the conference schedule," commented Coach Mounce. "We are excited to have the opportunity to improve on last year's finish and possibly move forward to the NCAA tournament. We have the talent to go along with this schedule and are anticipating some positive things in the fall."
After back-to-back scrimmages at Western Carolina on August 14th and a home scrimmage versus Pfeiffer on August 18th, the Runnin' Bulldogs will kick-off its 2011 regular season slate with three of its first four matches coming on the road.
Gardner-Webb will kick-off its 2011 season with a home bout versus USC Upstate at 7 p.m. on August 21st, before hitting the road for three straight matches against UT Chattanooga (August 28), Morehead State (September 2) and Eastern Kentucky (September 4).
The Runnin' Bulldogs will then return home to host the Under Armour Border Classic on September 9-11th, as the host squad is set to take on Jacksonville State on Friday, September 9th, at 7 p.m. and then Stetson at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 11th.
After a home contest against George Washington on Friday, September 16th, at 7 p.m., Coach Mounce's squad will hit the road for a non-conference match up with the Lady Panthers of Georgia State on Sunday, September 18th at 3 p.m.
GWU will then open up conference play at home versus Winthrop on Tuesday, September 27th, at 7 p.m., before traveling down state to Buies Creek, N.C. to do battle with new Big South Conference member and old foe Campbell University on Thursday, September 29th.
The Runnin' Bulldogs will then return home for its next to matches, both of which will come in conference play, as GWU will host Liberty on October 6th and High Point on October 8th with both contests slated for 7 p.m. starts.
After back-to-back conference road matches at Radford (October 13) and VMI (October 15), the Runnin' Bulldogs will return to wrap up its home slate with contests versus UNC Asheville at 7 p.m. on October 20th and against Presbyterian on October 22nd at 4 p.m.
Gardner-Webb will finish its 2011 regular season slate on the road with bouts at Charleston Southern on October 27th and at Coastal Carolina on October 29th, before preparing itself for the 2011 Big South Women's Soccer Championships on November 3-6th at Blackhead Stadium in Daniel Island, S.C.
