Boiling Springs, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb men's swimming program has announced its schedule for the upcoming 2011-12 competition season, featuring three home meets including two against in-conference foes College of Charleston and Virginia Military Institute, all in preparation for the ÇCSA Championships February 16-18.

The Runnin' Bulldogs kick off the season September 17th with an open water meet at nearby Moss Lake in preparation for a grueling fall schedule lasting through October and November.

Gardner-Webb will travel to face the Seahawks of UNC-Wilmington on October 15. The journey to Wilmington, N.C. will be the second in as many years for GWU, facing the successful team from the Colonial Athletic Association.

Gardner-Webb will turn around two weeks later to compete before a home crowd in Boiling Springs, N.C. against new opponent Queens University. The October 29 contest between the Runnin' Bulldogs and the Royals, in its inaugural season as a swimming program, will begin at 10 a.m.

November marks the opening of conference competition for the Runnin' Bulldogs when GWU hosts VMI on November 4. The men's only meet between the two conference opponents will start at 6 p.m.

The Gardner-Webb men will then prepare for their crucial midseason taper meets. GWU will compete at the Georgia Tech Invite in Atlanta, Ga. and the Wingate Fall Frenzy in Charlotte, N.C. November 18-20, 2011 in preparation for the conference championships in February.

After USS Nationals (LC) in Atlanta on December 1-3, the Runnin' Bulldogs will complete Christmas training December 29 - January 7 in Sarasota, Fla. Gardner-Webb will follow the training trip with a meet facing Darton College at the campus of Georgia Southern University on January 8.

The GWU men follow with a road trip to Gaffney, S.C. on January 19 to face Limestone College. The rivalry meeting between the two teams is slated to begin at 6 p.m.

Two days later the Gardner-Webb men will travel to take on rival and defending CCSA champion Davidson College on January 21. The following week will feature another conference battle as Gardner-Webb hosts College of Charleston on January 28 in what will be a heated affair on GWU's campus.

Following the two conference dual meets, GWU will have 3-4 weeks to prepare for the 2011-12 CCSA conference championship meet. The three-day meet will be held at the University of Georgia February 16-18 and will conclude GWU's 2011-12 regular season.

The Men's NCAA championships will be held March 22-24 in Seattle, Wa.
