Big South All-Conference golfers Daniel Kim and J.J. Regan both continued their strong play on the
links this weekend, as the two each posted a top-20 finish overall
at the Investors Group Ontario Men's Amateur Championships at the
Brampton Golf Club in Brampton, Ontario.
Kim, a rising junior at GWU, carded rounds of 75, 73, 77 and 66,
to finish the four-round event tied for seventh-place overall with
a combined score of 291, +7. Kim, who finished the tournament with
a total of 15 birdies, posted seven birdies on his fourth and final
round of play on Friday en route to his tournament low round of 66,
-5 under par.
Fellow Canadian and GWU teammate Regan finished in a three-way
tied for 17th-place overall, turning in a final score of 295, +11.
Regan, like Kim, posted his strongest round of the event on Friday
afternoon, carding a fourth and final round score of 72, +1. For
the tournament, Regan recorded eight birdies and 46 pars over the
four-day event.
The Investors Group Men's Amateur Championship showcases a field
of Ontario's best amateur male golfers vying to hoist the Gary
Cowan trophy.
