
GWU Freshman Megan Curan Named Big South Attacking Player of the Week

Charlotte, N.C. (BigSouthSports.com) - Gardner-Webb freshman
midfielder/forward Megan Curan (Mooresville, N.C.) has been selected as
the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Women's Soccer Attacking
Player of the Week for games played Aug. 22-28, it was announced
today by the League office.
Curan scored her first two career goals Sunday in a 3-3 tie against
Chattanooga. The first goal came off a penalty kick in the eighth
minute and put Gardner-Webb up 1-0. Later in the match with the
Runnin' Bulldogs down 2-1, Curan scored her second goal, heading in
a corner kick to knot the game at 2-2 going into halftime.
The honor marks Curan's first in her young career as a Runnin' Bulldog and comes in only her second week competing at Gardner-Webb.
Curan and the Runnin' Bulldogs will be back in action this weekend in two non-conference road matches. GWU travels to face the Morehead State Eagles on Friday, Sep. 2 and the Colonels of Eastern Kentucky on Sunday, Sep. 4.
