GWU's Lauren Smith Tabbed Big South Women's Golfer of the Week

Charlotte, N.C. - Gardner-Webb junior Lauren Smith was named the Choice Hotels Big South Women's Golfer of the Week for events played Sept. 15-21, it was announced today by the Conference office.
Smith finished third at the Great Smokies Women's Collegiate (par 72, 5,932 yards) with a 5-under par 139 (72-67). She was the low scorer for the Runnin' Bulldogs for the second-straight outing this season, as she led the tournament field with 12 birdies and a 3.63 average in par-4 scoring, finishing at 6-under par in the category.
Smith's play helped Gardner-Webb tie for third-place in the 23-team field.
The Gardner-Webb women's golf team will return to the links for competition on October 2-4th, as the Runnin' Bulldogs will compete at the UNCG Starmount Women's Intercollegiate.
