GWU Volleyball Hits the Road For the 'Battle of the Bulldogs' on Friday Night at 7 p.m. at Asheville

Boiling Springs, N.C. - After winning three out of four home matches to wrap up the month of September, the Gardner-Webb volleyball team is looking to snap a two-match losing streak in the "Battle of the Bulldogs" this Friday night at UNC Asheville at 7 p.m. in Kimmel Arena.
Gardner-Webb (7-15, 2-3 Big South) is coming off a tough weekend, in which the Runnin' Bulldogs suffered back-to-back three set losses on the road at Presbyterian College and at Winthrop.
The Runnin' Bulldogs have struggled on the road this season, as GWU is 0-7 in true road matches this year. In fact, the Runnin' Bulldogs have dropped nine-straight road matches dating back to last season with their last road win coming at Wofford on October 25, 2011.
Friday night's contest will be a Big South Conference road match at Asheville, which will prove to be a challenge for GWU, who is only 3-30 in road matches coming in Big South Conference play since joining the League back in 2008, which includes four straight home losses against the Bulldogs in Asheville, N.C.
The Bulldogs of UNC Asheville are 6-15 overall and 2-3 in conference play heading into action on Friday night versus GWU. Since falling at GWU to the Runnin' Bulldogs 3-1 on Sept. 21 in their Big South Conference opener, Asheville has gone 2-2 with wins over Liberty and Winthrop.
Asheville, who is coming off a 3-0 loss at PC on Saturday afternoon, split last week's two conference road bouts earning a win at Winthrop 3-1 on Friday night.
Asheville, who is 2-1 at home thus far this season, including a win over Liberty, has dropped two straight matches to GWU heading into Friday night's Big South Conference showdown.
GWU defeated Asheville 3-1 in the two teams' first meeting this year back on September 21st in Boiling Springs, N.C.
